We have collated our most frequently asked questions so you can get the best out of Bandtheme. You can also view the knowledgebase for more in-depth answers.
A WordPress theme is a bit like a new wardrobe for your website.
It is a tool to change the layout, design, functionality and overall look of a WordPress powered website.
Band Theme is specifically designed to easily edit and organise your content as well as customize the appearance of your site, including changing the layout, fonts, colours and many other design elements, with no coding knowledge.
The key difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org is who is actually hosting your website.
With WordPress.org, you host your own site. With WordPress.com, on the other hand, it’s WordPress.com that takes care of all of this for you but with some restrictions.
Band Theme will work on WordPress.com but there are limitations, such as no custom domain name, file size limits, plugin restrictions and more. You must also purchase the WordPress Business plan to upload your theme. It is for this reason we recommend WordPress.org. If you’re unsure, we offer a hosting package to take care of everything for you.
Bandtheme is designed to get you up and rocking in no time.
If you purchase our hosting or installation package we aim to have your site installed within a few working hours (subject to receiving any required details from you).
It’s then up to you to add / edit all your content. When you’re ready to go live, it can take 72 hours for a domain to update, depending on your provider (although in reality this is often much quicker).
We would normally suggest you plan ahead and allow at least 5 days from start to go-live.
Yes! Our team of experts are always on hand to help.
If you have a problem with Bandtheme and have an active license, you will receive updates with any security and bug fixes as they become available.
You will also receive a link to our in-depth user guide.
Every Bandtheme website requires a license to unlock all features and support. You must purchase one license for each site you wish to install it on. A license lasts for 12 months from the time of purchase.
A valid license key will give you access to all the design templates, new feature releases, any bug and security fixes and also your own personal support area.
Once you have placed an order, you will be emailed your license key. You can also find this any time in My Account. For more detailed instructions on how to activate your Bandtheme, please refer to the user guide.
If you decide not to renew or cancel your license after the 12 month period, your website theme will continue to work as normal. You can still edit content and layouts but you will no longer receive updates, have access to the design templates or access to support after the end of your billing period.
With an active Bandtheme license, you will get free, unlimited updates to your theme which include any bug fixes, new features and security updates. This will keep your website working smoothly and will keep it secure.
All you need to do is head to Appearance > Themes and then update Bandtheme.

To make an exact copy of the Bandtheme templates you’ve seen online, we have to overwrite your existing content and replace your website. If you want to keep an existing website running while you design your new website, we strongly recommend using a second server (also known as “Staging Server”).
If you purchase hosting with us, we will install your site on a Staging Server first.
Once the Bandtheme template is imported into your staging server, you will be able to migrate your existing content to that staging server. By doing this, your existing website will continue to run, and you will have all the time you want to develop/design the new website on your second server. When you are ready to launch your new website, you will just have to point your domain name to the staging server so it becomes your new “live” server.
If you need help importing all your content from another service to Bandtheme, please contact us to discuss requirements.
If you have purchased Installation, all you need to give us is access to your WordPress dashboard.
If you have purchased hosting or a hosting bundle, you don’t need to provide anything – we will set everything up for you.
If you don’t have web hosting yet we can help. You also need a valid Band Theme theme license.
